HP: A powerful tool

Idea for the D&AD HP workstation brief about inspiring creative individuals to understand the capabilities of a HP workstation

Two Objects

Take two different objects and find away to blend aspects of the two different entities in original and creative ways. After considering the action of washing your hands I came to the conclusion of combining the sink tap and soap. The idea was that the interaction with the tap meant that you would gain soap on your hands as you turned the handle and "clean" water would come from the faucet.... 

Knife Crime

The brief was to "Design a system/service that helps teenagers who are scared to walk the streets in their own community to stop them feeling the need to carry a weapon for defense by visualising the invisible levels of threat at the local level." 

Whoa! A little bit heavy but I think that this is a problem that should be acknowledged. However dictating a supposed solution to youths would isolate them even more so and I thought that the resolution had to be sensitive in order to not create a hysteria in local area. My solution was a phrase that was a mutual agreement between strangers, if not also a credible threat. As a T-Shirt it highlights that the invisible threat is the person and their actions rather than the weapon itself.

The Plastic Hearts

 

There is a group/collective of lovely ladies that are I guess what you would say entertainers, performers. They take over the themes of Dusk Till Dawn in Bournemouth and have created eccentric mayhem at festivals such as The Secret Garden Party and the upcoming Field Festival. After posting that they needed a logo on their Facebook group..i spent a few free summer hours having a doodle and this is what i came up with.. It kinda grabs their essence of kitsch fifties fun.. yet still a little bit different and bold! Opinions??

delivered : a catalogue of envelopes

This is my most recent work. The brief was to take a personal collection and create a catalogue for the collection. I decided to use the empty used envelopes that had culminated in my room. Noticing the new form of these envelopes i took the outline of the envelopes tear each unique like fingerprints. The final outcome resulted in the envelopes being catergorised in the distance it had travelled and the line being scaled accordingly. There is about fifteen but here is a few.The result creates an ambiguous tone yet highlights a beauty of something that is normally discarded. 

Metype Identity

This brief was to design an identity strategy for fonts that were to be sold at a discounted rate to students.  The identity was based o a staggered campaign, where a series of fonts of a certain style ( serif, sans serif and script) were released over a period of time. Only when the collection is complete is the product logo revealed.

Flipbook holding cds

Decorating someone's experience. The opportunity to do something special and creative is a crime if you don't take that and run with it.  Someone who copies or pinches a design should be taken down an alley and given a good kicking.

kinda miss drawing, i was supposedly supposed to be good at it but it's one of those things that i things that i actually don't get to enjoy any more once i started graphic design, just general sketching. That and time seems to get greedy.

First time for everything... thought i'd start to actually go in to the real world and see what people think of my work and see whether what i thought was strong design was of some worth. Please feel free to give advice and opinions about my work, it would be greatly appreciated.
